If you’ve grown up in an environment where you didn’t feel seen, heard, or accepted for who you are, longed for trusting relationships, always felt like you were “too much” or “never enough” in your most important relationships, you are not alone. Together, we’ll work to unpack the messages that hold you back, reshape your boundaries, and heal from emotional deprivation. 

An EMDR Intensive can help you process the deep-rooted beliefs or experiences that keep you stuck. These can look like

  • Being told you were too dramatic or too sensitive when you didn’t get the spot you wanted on the basketball team, which caused you to withdraw or minimize yourself because you thought you did something wrong

  • One or both of your parents responding to a question with yelling and accusing you of “talking back,” which resulted in you no longer speaking up when you didn’t understand or wanted to have a conversation

  • Your parent refusing to apologize for screaming at you even when they know it was wrong or harmful, which made you feel like you were to blame for their behavior

  • Feeling the need to walk on eggshells around your parents because you don’t know what version of them you are going to get, the reasonable and understanding parent or the judgmental and argumentative parent, which made you really good at reading a room and intuiting other’s needs

  • Being judged and dismissed for not having the same political or religious views, which made you doubt yourself and wonder if you really knew what you were talking about, so now you are reluctant to share your opinion about anything and stay in the background

My approach is designed to help you let go of what you were taught and step into your most genuine, empowered self: 

  • being able to share your thoughts, feelings, and values without fear of judgment or rejection

  • setting boundaries and limits to protect your emotional wellbeing

  • trusting your instincts and choices

  • allowing yourself to be open and real even when it feels risky

  • accepting your past while creating a future aligned with your values

For mothers...

raising children with multiple and/or severe food allergies

If you’re a mom raising children with severe or multiple food allergies, the daily anxiety of keeping them safe can feel overwhelming. You might live with constant worry, fearing what could happen, or you may be processing the trauma of an incident where things didn’t go as planned. With EMDR, I helped one mom ease her fear and frustration with having to drive around to five different stores to find the only safe bread her son could have. We were able relieve the resentment she experienced about the lack of availability of safe foods and how her son’s life will be different due to his food allergies.

An EMDR Intensive can provide relief from the constant anxiety of keeping your children safe.

  • The hypervigilance of constantly reading labels, questioning restaurant staff, and preparing food meticulously to avoid allergens

  • The fear of accidents at family gatherings, school events, or any situation where you can’t fully control what your child eats

  • Skipping events or outings because of the fear your child might be exposed to dangerous foods

  • Sleeplessness and worry due to replaying “what if” scenarios in your mind, even when things seem safe

EMDR offers a space to process past traumatic events and build resilience, so you can move forward feeling more empowered and less fearful.
