EMDR Therapist Florida

If you’re a mom carrying the weight of shame, anxiety, or emotional burnout, and wondering what the hell EMDR therapy actually looks like—this is for you. Whether you’ve tried traditional talk therapy before or you’re new to the idea of therapy, understanding what working with an EMDR therapist in Florida entails can take a lot of the unknown (and fear) out of the process.

EMDR Begins with Connection

Before we even get to the work, EMDR starts with us getting to know each other. We begin with an EMDR Prep Talk: a 90-minute online session where we map out your history, identify your targets and goals, and get to know each other. This isn’t just clinical background—we build trust and connection, so you feel as safe as possible to feel vulnerable.

Our Targets Aren't Random

When people think of therapy, they often imagine endless rehashing of the worst moments. EMDR doesn’t work that way. We identify key “targets”—memories or beliefs that are causing the distress—and we work through them strategically. You’ll always be the one in control of your process. This approach helps you move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling empowered!

BLS Helps You Rewire, Not Relive

During the reprocessing phase, we use bilateral stimulation (BLS)—like eye movements or alternating sounds—to activate both sides of your brain. This process helps you keep one foot in the moment while you explore the target. You begin to see the experience, emotion, or belief through new eyes; with a clarity you weren't able to get while you were IN the situation or emotion.

Relief Can Be Quicker Than You Think

Because I offer EMDR Intensive Therapy via Telehealth for Florida residents (and Delaware, Iowa, and Wisconsin), we’re able to compress what might take six months of weekly therapy into a few focused sessions. Clients often report a noticeable shift after just one intensive. It’s super efficient, deep work for moms who don’t have time to waste.
